Make Video Smaller Online
Shrink a video to 10MB, 25MB or whatever size you need. It all happens in your browser, and nothing gets uploaded.
How to Make a Video Smaller
- Step 1Choose your video
Drop a file into the box or click Choose a file. It opens in this tab and stays on your computer.
- Step 2Set a target size
Type a number in MB, or tap a preset like 25 MB or Discord. Pick a quality level if you care more about size or detail.
- Step 3Download the smaller file
Press Compress. You’ll see the before and after sizes, then download the new video with no watermark.
Pick a Target Size
The big number at the top of the tool is the size you want to end up under. There are three ways to set it.
Enter a value like 18 or 7.5 in the MB box. The tool works out the bitrate so the file lands under it.
10, 20, 25, 50, 100 and 200 MB cover most upload forms, chat apps and email services.
Discord, WhatsApp and Email fill in a size that suits each one. You can still change it.

FAQ
Open it in the tool on this page. MakeVideoSmaller compresses the video inside your browser, so the file is read and written on your own device. Your videos never leave your device.
Yes. There’s no signup, no trial and no watermark on the downloaded video.
Yes. You set a target and the result comes out under it. Browser compression can’t hit a size to the byte, so we aim slightly below your number. If a video can’t get under the target, the result shows the actual size.
Some detail is traded for size, and how much depends on the video’s length and your target. A long video squeezed into a small target gives up the most. For short clips shared online, the difference is usually hard to spot.
A recent version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox on a computer. Chrome gives the most reliable results. If your browser can’t run the tool, you’ll see a message telling you what to switch to.
The tool is built for desktop browsers. Phones often run out of memory on large videos, so for anything big we recommend Chrome on a desktop or laptop computer.
